Praises, Praises & More Praises

Hello all! Things have been very busy here, and it's hard to believe that it's quickly becoming the holiday season. Please bear with us as we try to keep you updated, as well as try to keep ourselves organized with everything that's going on!

Last weekend Duane & Laurie were able to attend the conference Pastor's & Wives retreat at Pine Lake Camp. It was a good time of fellowship with other conference pastors and their spouses from around the Gulf States.

There are lots of things for us to praise the Lord for right now. First of all, Duane & Laurie celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on October 2nd. They celebrated on Saturday with dinner at Logan's Roadhouse and finally a weekend of nothing scheduled! Heather was able to give them some alone time as she accompanied Glenn & Emma Myers to Des Allemonds, LA for the camp sale, which raised over $22,000 for the fellowship camp in our conference. It was a great weekend!

We are also very happy to report that starting tomorrow (Monday, October 5th) all three of us will be working! Laurie starts a job as an RN at the Choctaw Health Center, and Heather will be working at Maust Woodworking in Meridian, MS as an office assistant. Thank you so much to all of you who have been praying for our job situation... your prayers have been answered!

Today was the first time Heather led the singing at Pearl River. Last Wednesday she practiced with some of the youth to teach them to play some instruments, and today they helped her lead. It sounded great! We had Duane on the drums, Briana on the keyboard, Heather on the guitar (which she's just learning!) and Deidre on the flute. People seemed receptive of the new style of music and were attempting to sing along to the contemporary songs, even if they didn't really know them. Heather will be leading the singing all through the month of October!

Please continue to pray for the sale of our house in Indiana. God has brought together many loose ends of our adventures here, but there are still a few danglers! Thank you for your faithful prayers as we continue this journey.
